Door cards guide, part 3: put the bridge on the hotel computer
Download the Xenia bridge installer from the Door locks page, run it on the encoder computer, paste the one-time code, and watch the bridge come online.

This is part 3 of 6 of the Xenia door cards guide: 1. What you need and how it fits together · 2. Add the bridge in Xenia and set up your rooms · 3. Put the bridge on the hotel computer · 4. Connect the encoder · 5. Make room cards · 6. Special cards and the card register.
This part is done on the computer the encoder is plugged into. There is one file to download and one window to fill in. Nothing needs to be unzipped, copied into a folder or typed in a command window.
Download the installer
On the encoder computer, open Xenia in the browser and sign in as the owner or a general manager. Choose Door locks.
Choose Download the installer. A file named like Xenia-Bridge-Setup-1.0.0.exe is saved to your Downloads folder.
Next to the button Xenia shows the file's version and a short checksum. Your computer supplier can use it to confirm the file is the real one.
Run it
Open the file you downloaded.
Windows may show a blue box saying Windows protected your PC. This is normal for a new program. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Windows asks whether to allow the program to make changes. Choose Yes. The installer needs this to set the bridge up as a Windows service.
The Xenia bridge setup window opens.
Get the code from Xenia
If you have not yet added the bridge in Xenia, do that now (part 2). The Enrolment code is twelve letters and numbers in three groups, such as W9YN-AFQ2-6CPU.
Fill in the setup window
Click in the white box under Paste the code here and paste the code (or choose Paste).
The window says the encoder files are included with the setup. You do not need to find, copy or browse for anything. (Use other files is only for a technician whose lock supplier gave a different version.)
Choose the orange Install button.
The window signs the bridge in to Xenia first. A wrong or used code stops there and changes nothing, so you can try again with a new code. While it works, the box at the bottom lists each step. When the code is accepted the window copies the bridge into C:\Program Files (x86)\Xenia\Bridge, installs it as the Windows service Xenia Lock Bridge, starts it, and puts a Xenia bridge shortcut on the desktop.
When it finishes, a message says Done. The bridge is running and will start by itself whenever this computer starts. Choose OK.
If you open Xenia bridge from the desktop later, the window shows The bridge is running, the hotel and the lock system, with buttons to Test the encoder, Restart, Set up again and Remove.
Check it is online
In Xenia, open Door locks. Within a few seconds the bridge shows Online, with the name you gave it and "last heard from just now".
If it does not come online
The setup window says the code was not accepted. It was wrong, already used, or had run out. Go to Xenia, choose Add a bridge and use the new code.
The window says it could not reach Xenia. The computer has no internet, or a firewall blocks outgoing connections. Open Xenia in the browser on the same computer to check.
It installed but shows Offline. Open the Xenia bridge desktop shortcut and choose Restart. The service also restarts itself if it stops.
You switched the bridge off in Xenia. Add a new bridge and run the installer again.
Next: Part 4: connect the encoder.
